Communications and Content Specialist

We are seeking a communications and content specialist for a part-time position with the possibility of working remotely. The goal of the role is to support, integrate and disseminate our mission and voices of our brothers and sisters from Indigenous communities in Peru through various media.  The specialist will be working closely with the head of New York City office and development team.

Responsibilities:

Communications:

  • Write internal and external communications including blog, website content, social media and email
  • Introduce new communication means to reach out to our audiences, potential donors and partners
  • Represent Habitat Pro Association in events in New York related to Indigenous issues: at our partners events, at the universities, at the United Nations
  • Media research and outreach
  • Work directly with development team to assure communications consistency

Marketing

  • Design and launch marketing/communications strategic campaigns
  • Assist in event management

Social media coordination

  • Design, strategize and schedule content for major social media platforms
  • Execute social media strategies based on performance indicators to increase organic growth and engagement
  • Analyze trends and recommend adjustments, keeping current to Indigenous peoples issues
  • Prepare analysis reports

 

Desired skills and requirement

One to two years experience in communications

Crowdfunding experience highly preferable

Ideally written and speaking Spanish and English language capability

Ability to work in a team as on your own

Past experience targeting audiences

Familiarity with  PSD, Illustrator, Buffer/Hootsuite

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

This is an unpaid position, though Habitat Pro’s internships are eligible for college credit. We look forward to your contributions advocating for Indigenous issues.
